Valentine’s Day is notorious for its love/hate relationship. Many brides find inspiration from the day – even planning their ceremonies on February 14. But others may not find the lovey-dovey day so sentimental.
Regardless of how you feel, Valentine’s can offer wedding planning inspiration. Or, the holiday can spark a few ideas for bridal showers, bachelor/bachelorette and engagement parties.
All red everything
If there’s any color known for its connection to love, it’s red! Pinks and whites are also used as complimentary colors, and can balance out too much of bright reds.
From décor to bridal accessories, the shade can make its way into nearly any wedding day (or party) décor. Bridesmaids’ dresses can be shades of red, and additional color can be added to bridal gowns to make a statement. And, unlike matching ‘honeysuckle’ or ‘melon,’ hues of red may be easier to pair up – saving planning bridal parties frustration and additional costs.
Plus, finding floral arrangements can be much easier. Think about all the flowers that come in red, and you’ll be quickly finding your new favorite.
Bring on the hearts
If you’ve been considering a heart motif, go for it! Valentine’s Day is all about the hearts – they’re the universal symbol for love! Invitations, candles, wreaths, cakes, decorations – there’s so many ways to tie hearts into your theme, regardless of how elegant (or non-formal) the day will be.
If you’re planning a Valentine’s Day wedding, or one with a similar theme, purchasing decorations could be cheaper at different times of year. Within days to a week after the holiday, items are often clearance out, which could be the perfect time to purchase for next year’s holiday wedding, a party or a ceremony later in the year.
Let out your inner sweet tooth
What’s the staple of Valentine’s Day? Chocolate, sweets and treats, of course! If you’re looking for a way to wow guests, consider a Viennese hour or an all-sweets table. These booths are centered on just a variety of sweets, and offer a break from the traditional meal
